Had a random thought all of the sudden so I shall blog about it.It's about me joining singing competitions.
Perhaps some people would misjudge me and think I want fame/glory/popularity, but I have to disagree with that.
I join such competitions because I love singing, and most importantly, I like to perform, on stage where audiences would clap after I finish a song.
The feeling is just so amazing.
I recently joined the singing competition V-Singer held by Ocean Butterflies (Hai Die) and got through the 1st round of auditions.
However, something made me re-think about this competition.
Even if I win, I would never give up my degree to go pursue a singing career, it's just a little too unrealistic.
How can one survive without education status in this realistic 21st century?
I wouldn't place my future in the hands of a 5-years contract to travel and perform around the world.
I mean, think, after a contract, what if you don't make it?
Then the contract ends, and you're left with nothing to fall back on since you don't have a good education status.
Now we all know why people won't dare to pursue their dreams.
And, I'm a part of those "people".
Anyway, I am just stating my views, so I hope no one gets offended or anything.
Those who dared/dare to pursue their dreams like being a singer/dancer/artist etc, I admire your guts, because there're really alot of risks involved.
Okay, don't think I'll even get through to the semi-finals of V-Singer actually.
Just suddenly feel that maybe next time I shouldn't join such a large scale singing competition since I don't intend to sign any contract at all.
Shall stick to smaller scale ones.
For now, I shall just see how far I can go in this competition.
Love, Grace.
How we think/feel/act, is indeed affected by the society.
